I missed my calling. I should have been an x-ray technician. I say this because… well just take a look at this knee. It’s perfect. Not only is it perfect, but I knew just by looking at it, that there was nothing really wrong – thus my missed calling remark. Who knew I could look at an x-ray and make my own diagnosis?
Okay, that’s not entirely true. The knee isn’t perfect. There is some mild, age-related osteoarthritis. I guess my untrained eye couldn’t detect that one small detail.
I must admit to being shocked about the results. Keeping in mind I have a vivid imagination, I expected the bones to be practically fused together, considering how much pain I’m in. I imagined my doctor calling and the conversation going like this:
“You don’t even have a knee joint anymore. It’s amazing you can even walk. You are a medical marvel!” A bit much? Yeah, the imagination might have been working just a wee bit in overdrive.
Next up will probably be an MRI. That should be exciting. I never had one of those before. Not that sticking my leg into a machine is exciting. That part will likely be boring but I think it’s kinda cool to be able to see what the inside of my leg looks like. Call me weird. You won’t be the first.
