Just slightly sweet, fizzy, deliciousness – I think I have successfully created kombucha. I made two kinds: ginger turmeric and strawberry. I’m fairly sure you can tell which is which.
Complete success cannot be claimed, however. There is some question about the safety of home brewing. Since I’ve brewed both beer and wine, I know the danger of unwanted microbes so I am very careful. I will not, however, claim complete success until after both batches have undergone human testing with no adverse affects.
Probably not a great decision for me to test both batches at once, using myself as the test subject. For one thing, if I suddenly become ill, I won’t know which is the tainted batch. And then there are the dinner plans I have for tomorrow. Yeah, sometimes I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
