I promise – this really isn’t turning into a recipe blog. It’s just that lately, it seems I’m doing a lot of cooking and eating. Clearly that has to change because I absolutely resolve to lose weight. But hey, it’s a holiday weekend so we won’t discuss topics like diets.
Today it’s all about the barbecue. My son in-law is smoking baby back ribs & turkey legs. Clearly those ribs will need sauce so I had to whip some up…
Hot Honey Maple BBQ Sauce
3/4 cup ketchup
3 oz. honey
3 oz. maple syrup
1 tsp salt
2 tsp Sriracha sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Mix all the ingredients in a small saucepan. Heat until it bubbles. Pour into an appropriate serving container.
You can up the Sriracha for more spice or omit it for a mild sauce.
I used an all natural, organic ketchup that did not contain high fructose corn syrup.
