In view of today’s date, I just had to use that as my title. Isn’t the card game Uno a variation of Crazy Eights? And speaking of crazy, apparently there was some craziness here at the house while we were away. I knew mostly what was going on and I do have to give my girl credit for the full disclosure, unlike her brother at that age.

Steve: “Only Mike, Paul & Tim were here and we certainly didn’t drink anything.”
Me: “Oh, I guess someone broke into the house while you were asleep and signed on to AIM on my computer under some girl’s name. And that empty beer bottle in the backyard just happened to walk there.”
Steve:”There were no girls in the house & we were not drinking.”

Yep, that’s my boy. Although he did share with me some interesting stories a few years after the fact. He was also rather proud of himself with how spotless the house was and if it wasn’t for whoever left that bottle out back, he thinks I’d have been clueless.

I hate to break it to him but I didn’t read all those detective stories and not pick up a few things. My powers of observation and reasoning can match up against any 20 year old! And last night, they did. I was like Shawn on that show Psych.

I don’t know if any of you watch that show but he spots things & there’s this little light up effect & noise to go with it. That was me last night as I spotted a small piece of brownie on the wall in over the stove and another piece high over the cabinets. I could swear they lite up & there were sound effects. I called Theresa. “Sweetheart, was there a brownie food fight in my kitchen?”

She was out with a friend who overheard the conversation. That friend had not been here at the little party. I could hear the friend say something like, “They had a food fight??”

“Yes, there was, and I was not amused. I flipped out on them and started screaming at them. I said the dog had better not eat that chocolate & get sick or they’d be paying for a vet bill.” She paused. “I thought I cleaned it all up.” Ah, but we’re short and she probably didn’t think to look up.
