Just how much did it suck taking Stephen to the airport? Well let’s put it this way. I have never, ever, in my entire adult life cried in public. Nor have I ever cried in front of my kids. Yeah, I guess that record is broken. I didn’t want to. I always have such good control. I especially didn’t want to because I didn’t want him getting upset. Steve was cute. He said, “Sorry Mom. Do you want me to get a picture of the bishop so you can throw darts at it?”
I am now going to sit on the couch, drink beer and watch mind numbing TV. The good news is Frank will be home tomorrow. He took today & tomorrow off.
Aw, Monkling…….
Aw Monkling. My brain can not even begin to wrap around the concept. But what an amazing mom you are that your son chose that career path. I hope your mind was sufficiently numbed by the TV. Huge hugs to you!
Other than the bishop thing–been there, done that. I cry in public all the time, but sobbed when my little boy left for what seemed like forever. Okay, he’s in Special Forces and can kill people with a glance, but he’s still my little boy.
The great news is that you can visit, and I hope you do so frequently. Yet, this is really the end of an era. He won’t live at home again, most likely. That seems to be a hard thing to deal with. Your baby is a grown up (even though he still cuts up like a kid).
I love you–and hope Frank gives you lots of hugs. Jer
I’m a crier and cry very easily so my kids have seen me cry many times. I don’t think they take it too seriously anymore. SH used to stop whatever he was doing when I would start crying and fuss over me, now he just rolls his eyes and says “what NOW.”
I hope you and Frank find something to do today to take your mind off of everything, if even just for a little while. We are all here thinking of you!
Aw, Monk. I would sit there with you on the couch and drink beer and watch mindless TV because sometimes that’s just the best thing to do. AFTER you’ve made a few voodoo dolls because darts lobbed at a picture just sometimes aren’t enough
.
But we are here for ya, always. For all the good that does ya…
Thanks, guys. Feel free to grab a drink out of the fridge & watch the Yankee game with me.
