This is what spaghetti looks like with vegetables from the garden sans wiggling creatures:

It’s lucky no one saw me cleaning off the vegetables. They would then have known how neurotic I am when it comes to bugs. Each pea pod & tomato was individually washed and carefully inspected. Every leaf of basil & oregano was cleaned and examined. The broccoli was soaked in salt water, which I was told, would cause any critters to go running. After the soaking, not once but twice, I cut it up, looking at every single little piece under a microscope. As I sautéed the garlic and vegetables in olive oil, I was constantly on watch to make sure nothing moved.
I think I’ve made pizza complete with homemade sauce & dough faster than that meal took.

Hey, VA, I guess you’ll have to plan another NY trip or I’m going to have to head south this fall, eh? Oh, wait. Someone is going to Italy this fall where they’re gonna get food way better than anything I can cook…
