Today I took a trip out to the local warehouse shopping center and came back with this:

Thus far, the count is at 70. We will probably need about double that.
My darling daughter, who is a year shy of legal age, wants to play bartender at the party. “Give me some recipes & I can whip up Pina Coladas & Strawberry Daiquiris. How hard can it be?” Personally I’m not sure we’ll go much beyond the beer and wine.
So now here’s a question for you. (Yeah, that’s right - reader participation!) If you were at a party and having dessert, which would you rather have? A sheet cake or a bunch of different things so you have a choice?
In spite of what Theresa wanted me to get, I am not getting those ice tube thingies so that the little ones will be blue & orange and there will be little plastic things all over my yard.

I’m on a diet, so I’m as neutral as Switzerland about dessert. And I’ll probably be real exciting and drink Diet Coke or water. Maybe a cake would be easier for you and make it seem more like a celebration than a dinner party?

Can you tell from the photo that the Diet Coke is caffeine free?

A cake would be easier for you and be perfectly fine. If you want to make desserts that include whipped cream and chocolate pudding….I’ll be on my way.
I do have to drive to Maryland next week, thats half way.

I think you should have a cake, pizelles, pudding in a cloud, Theresa’s strawberry daiquiries and pina coladas, pie and cookies. And, Katy…why are you going to Maryland? Stop by and pick me up, and after your Maryland business, let’s tool on up to Monk’s house, C’mon, it’ll be fun! So, Monk, you better get another case of Heineken, some Pepsi for Katy, and a little more water for the mornings after the Heiniken evenings

umm….its 849 miles in the other direction to your house Kim (according to mapquest)….but maybe Mike won’t notice if I take a wrong turn.
Cumberland is the half way point to my sisters when I meet her to pick up my niece.

Alright, well Kim should travel to Katy’s & then you both can stop here.

Don’t worry, Mom. He’s just getting all that “stuff” out of his system before he gets to Rome. They won’t be as forgiving as you are

Don’t know how that last comment wound up on this entry, but… my comment for this entry says “sheet cake.” I’m with Feldman on this.
