Yesterday I walked up to the post office and drug store. My son was playing a video game on the Wii.
“Steve, I’m going out to the store. I’ll be back in half an hour.”
“Yeah, okay.”
When I come back, I see there is a message on my answering machine from my sister. “Uh, Steve, didn’t you hear the phone ring?”
“The phone rang?”
“Yeah. How could you not notice it?”
“I thought you’d get it.”
“I wasn’t here.”
“Oh, you weren’t?”
Today I went for another walk, to pick up a catering menu from Luigi’s for his party. “Steve, I’m going out. That means I’m not home. If the phone rings, you have to answer it.”
“Didn’t I already prove yesterday that I don’t have to answer it?”
In other news, today I crossed 5 things off my to-do list. I am so proud! I even cooked dinner tonight. I’m on a roll! Well not literally because that would be gross and anyway, the only place a roll belongs in in my mouth, not under my butt.
