I don't care about your jeans, to be honest, but oh, the horror of shopping. I went to Costco yesterday and picked up a pair of jeans
I have good news. I went on Kohl's website & there were the exact jeans I just had to toss. I ordered 2. Now people will think I keep wearing the same pair of jeans & never wash them.

Inclusions...I like the sound of that, Monkling. Just think, you could make a memory book with pictures and a dedication to your loved one and include them, too, and put that on your coffee table instead of an urn on the mantle.

that was pretty cute, Gin, but I had more of a vision of bits of zipper zigzagged here and there and pieces of pocket worked in more patchwork looking.

Now, what did you reply to the woman who wanted to book her mother's ashes?

I feel for you. I don't care about your jeans, to be honest, but oh, the horror of shopping. I went to Costco yesterday and picked up a pair of jeans while on my way over to my true mission (Diet Coke, seltzer, Tide). If they don't fit, I'm more likely to send them to GIn than to return them, truth be told. But at least by buying them at Costco, I have an excuse for not having to try them on at the store.

Normal? Yeah, like I believe that! As for the woman's request, I think it had something to do with getting in the last word. I had the idea she and her mother didn't get along.

Way, WAY past my bedtime. Off and gone.....

I guess I was posting at the same time as Gin, eh? Okay, I guess it could be worse. She could have asked for her mother's ashes and horse dung if she really disliked her mother.

It's Peg's fault. Normally I'd never, ever think of such things. I am not the least bit warped. I am completely normal.

Ashes?? Okay, that is SO wrong. What's that called again, Gin? Inclusions? Yeah, I can just picture it now. Little faces floating on top of the paper, smiling, made of ashes of... Damn it, Peggy, now look what you made me think of!

You mean like this, Pegs?

As for the ashes, um...would you believe that a woman once contacted me about handbinding three books, one for herself and one each for her sisters, using handmade paper containing her mother's ashes?

Gin, I think you should turn Monkling's jeans into one of those oddball vessels so you can stick her zipper and pockets and seams on it, too, and anything that was in her pockets can go in it or on it.

Gee, you can start yourself a whole new business preserving people's favorite clothing. Uh, can you turn ashes into pots? Oh, the possibilities!

Well I have some bad news and some good news. The bad news is, those jeans have already been taken off by our trash collectors. The good news is, the current pair of jeans I have on is also gonna go at any minute so I shall save them.

I am going to get to see you. Wish it could have been this spring, though  .

I am in the mood to start messing with trying my hand at paper making again real soon. If the work going on ever gets done around here...

 If those are 100% cotton jeans, cut the seams, zipper and pockets out of them and save the cloth. One of these days you can bring the cloth here and we'll run it through the Hollander beater. You can make paper out of your precious jeans...paper you can use to write your book.
