There is something very strange going on in the land of the Nursing Home. My mother in-law has been in the nursing home since August but she’s been in about 4 different rooms due to trips back and forth to the hospital. This newest room she’s in must be haunted by some sort of evil demon.
Remember her previous roommate, the one who said we were in there drinking and doing drugs? That woman is no longer there. MIL has a new roommate. This one seemed okay at first, at least as far as we could tell. She can’t talk so she wasn’t yelling at us to leave and she didn’t throw anything at us. She didn’t hold up signs saying, “Get Out!!”
It seems that over the last couple of weeks, she’s gone downhill mentally. Today she was hitting one of the nurses. Most days lately, they keep her in a wheelchair by the front desk so they can keep an eye on her.
Now I ask you – how is it possible that not 1 but 2 women were in that room and, at first, seemed perfectly fine. Then both of them started acting just a little odd. Coincidence? Or alien abduction, invasion of the body snatchers, pod people. I go for the second.
Either that or my MIL really isn’t as incapacitated as she appears and is doing something to them…
I think it’s YOU secretly doing something to them so you’ll have more fodder for blogging. Any suspicions I have I’m posting here immediately so it won’t do ya any good to send someone to try and shut me up.
Peggy, I know where you live and I’ll have all that extra money from everyone paying towards the HW board so I can buy a plane ticket and come over there. Then, whatever it is I’m doing to those old women to make them lose their sanity – yeah, you’re next.
Bring it on! I’ll even cook dinner for you first if you let me keep my brain long enough to remember how.
Oh, and bring some pizzelles with you for dessert.
Yup, I think Peggy is right. And one day, in the not too distant future, I’ll be on 48 Hours Mystery, saying, “Why, she was one of my first blogging friends! But I always knew there was something not quite right with her, although I never suspected it would come to this!”
Gotta go now and pick out my outfit.
No Kim, you won’t be saying anything. You’re one of the victims. Haven’t you noticed that some days you blank out just for a few seconds while reading Monkling’s blog? She’s brain wiping all of us, it’s just taking a bit longer since most of us don’t see her in person. Poor Dolores, I expect she’s already a podperson writing whatever Monkling tells her to comment here. Don’t Frank and Stephen and Theresa and monk’s sister all sound too good to be true? They’re all pod people already.
It’s like her very own stepford family….must not stare at the screen, must now stare at the screen…I’ll save you Kim.

She got to you, katy, you’re NOW staring at the screen.

Good job, Dolores. Now continue to stare into the monitor…
