My New Baby

There is a new member of the family. Here he is with his baby sister and big brother:

Baby sister is not going to be around much longer. She has this battery problem – even if it’s turned off, the battery totally drains after a day. Big brother doesn’t belong to us – he is a work laptop. Obviously I was in dire need of a new mobile device.

Then came the huge question: What would I buy? The handheld PCs like the IPAQ in the photo are very easy to carry around and this one has wireless capabilities but try reading a web page on it. You need those glasses that magnify everything. Laptops are good for traveling except they’re on the heavy side unless you want to spend $34,325 for the ultra thin ones.

Then I saw this baby which is referred to as an Ultra Mobile PC. It weights 1.5 lbs., it has wireless & Bluetooth, and it runs Windows XP Tablet edition which means I can load anything on to this machine.

Why should you care about my new toy? Because it means I can blog & check email no matter where I am – as long as I can get Internet access. Yep, no matter where I go, ya’ll are going to be with me.

It’s so cute it makes me want to pinch its little keys. My DS gets wireless because other people in his apartment building has it and his computer picks it up.

That REALLY is a cute little thing, but WHERE are those little keys that Katy so wants to pinch?

  3. Katy says:

Like I said Kim, caramels and Smirnoff twisted Raspberry, I don’t care if it has keys or not  Just as long as Monkling can use it when she is away.

No keys on it but I do have a Bluetooth folding keyboard on my want list. I forgot to mention, this is my very early birthday present. In addition to this gift, there’s a planned trip to San Antonio and there’s wireless Internet access in the hotel room. But that’s not for a while.

Can I whine about my cold? And feeling really crappy and that I’m supposed to have company on Sunday? If I stuff TNT up my nose, will that help clear it?

Here is what I want to know, what the hell did you have to do to them to figure out the sex of each one?
I hate having a stopped up nose. I do find that cold eeze helps get rid of the cold faster.

You just pick them up & look underneath, of course.

And not that this has much to do with anything but I put all 3 together so you could get a sense of how much bigger it is than a PDA but smaller than a laptop.
