No UFO Sightings

We really did try. We walked all over The Village but didn’t see a single alien or abductee. Of course they may have blended in with the humans so well that we just didn’t notice them. The closest we came to seeing what may have been an alien was this:

This, however, was not an alien but a street performer down in the Seaport.

Let me go back a bit to the beginning of the day. We decided that this was the day we were going to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. We started out on the Brooklyn side. Before attempting this, we wanted something to eat so we stood on line by Grimaldi’s to get some pizza. It’s supposed to be the best pizza in New York. In my opinion, that’s not really true but it is good. There’s always a line waiting to get in but, in our 2 experiences, it moves pretty quickly.

Then we started out on our trek across the bridge. As we made our way up the stairs and onto the walkway, I was surprised to see this:

bridge bride

They were not the only bride and groom on the bridge yesterday taking wedding pictures. In our 20 minute walk across, we saw 3 newly married couples. I never would have thought that the bridge was a popular photo spot for weddings.

We were able to see the Statue of Liberty to the south of the bridge. If I had my fancy camera, I’d have a better photo for you but you’ll have to settle for this one:

Yes, I will have to do the walk again, not give in to laziness and take the good camera with me. You would think I’d have learned my lesson the last time I chose the small camera over the good one. Apparently I am a very slow learner.

There’s a park beneath the bridge on the Brooklyn side where they were having some sort of concert or event. We could hear music and the park was packed with people:

If we had known about that beforehand, it would have been nice to check it out but there was no way I was going to walk all the way back down & then climb the stairs a second time. Did I mention I was lazy?

I bet the concert or thing under the bridge was really aliens and they were using it to trap humans. You aren’t lazy you just had a sense that walking all the way down to the concert could put your family in danger.

You know, I have a feeling Katy could be right. You know those aliens; they can be wiley little creatures! Whatever it was that prevented your abduction, I’m really glad because otherwise we would not have gotten to see your pictures. They made me REALLY REALLY want to be in New York. I can’t even tell you how jealous I am that you got to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. I am in love with the 1950′s version of Brooklyn that I saw on the TV show “Brooklyn Bridge” and read about in “It Happened In Brooklyn.” I just LOVE New York, and need to get there again sometime…not enough time to do everything! So, whichever camera you use is fine with me…

Well how did Zelda do over the weekend? I haven’t seen an obituary so I take it he/she did ok.
I’m excited to see if I did well on your contest. I don’t care who wins I just want to know how I did….I feel like I’m in 8th grade, until I look down at my body and I am reminded how long its been since I have been in a classroom.

I was so excited to finally be walking across the bridge that I didn’t even think of the possibility that the abductees may have migrated across the river and into Brooklyn. If that’s who was at the park listening to the music, then that explains why we couldn’t find them in the Village.

Theresa is home and up in her room. I haven’t heard any yelling so I assume the fish are alive. There are actually 2 fishbowls up there, Zelda and a betta fish. I did remember to feed them yesterday but not today. Hmmm…. maybe I should go up and tell her that.
