I probably should wait until I’ve built up a somewhat larger readership but what the heck. Why should my faithful readers be deprived of a contest just because there are only a few of them? And so I bring you:

The Summer Reading List Contest

Ya’ll remember those summer reading lists, the books we had to read over the summer. Here are 6 little scenes that represent 6 different books. Tell me the titles of these books:

1

2

3

4

5

6

Use this form to enter the contest; only 1 entry per person allowed. The winner will receive a very unique mp3 speaker. It’s so cool that even if you don’t have an mp3 player, you will still want this. In the event that there is more than one winner, there will be a random drawing. This contest ends on Sunday, June 24 at 11:59 p.m. eastern time.

Now don’t you go disappointing me by not entering or I may get discouraged and not run any more contests. Yeah, that’s right – this means you!

I will so try this later. I have no mp3 or ipod or anything. Right now I have a headache that is trying to force my eyeballs out of their sockets and looking at the computer, tv or a book makes me cry. I’m just such a blog addict I had to try to read a few of my favorites before putting the icepack back on my eyes.

  2. Monkling Says:

Ugh! Feel better. Don’t you dare read this reply until the headache goes away.

It is Monday, June 18 and I AM BAAAAAACK in plenty of time to enter the contest. Which I will be glad to do after I finish looking at the little pictures from every conceivable angle .

I missed ya during my three days away, Monkling!

My DD cleans her room all the time because she hates it messy. If I didn’t remember giving birth to her I would swear she wasn’t mine. DS is just like me, he can let it go for quite a while and then all the sudden it has to be cleaned up.

  5. Katy Says:

Sorry forgot to answer the other question…the head is a little better this morning. It hurt so bad last night I couldn’t sleep so I only got a few hours last night but it is some better and I think I can go to work.

  6. Jerilyn Dufresne Says:

I’d enter, but that would require me to have a clue what the answers are. I only have one answer. Guess I’m just tired (or dense).

  7. Monkling Says:

I’d enter, but that would require me to have a clue what the answers are.

I thought for certain you & Dave would get them. Maybe the HWs need to come take a look and help out. (Sorry, Peggy but hey, at least I’m not giving out clues.)

  8. Katy Says:

I have all of them but the last one and it is driving me crazy  I may not sleep ever again.

  9. Monkling Says:

My sister took my contest title to mean that these are actually books one would commonly find on a summer reading list. That isn’t necessarily the case. They’re just books. I have no idea if they ever appeared on a reading list or not. I should have thrown in The Wizard of Oz, too, but making a scarecrow out of a little, tiny cereal man would have been next to impossible.

  10. peggy Says:

If you’d just made a curvy little road out of some of those wheat checks and stuck four of those little cereal men together side by side with four legs extended I would have guessed Wizard of Oz!

  11. Monkling Says:

Extending their legs would have required breaking them. I don’t break legs. What? Just because I’m Italian? What are you implying here??

Bahahahahaha!!! What a shame all those people reading my blog with Google Reader are missing all this!

  12. peggy Says:

You could have called in Cousin Guido.

Four cereal men on a yellow brick road with a cheerio rolled out in front of them for Toto, I’d have guessed it!

Google Reader doesn’t allow people to read the comments? How come?

  13. peggy Says:

Your spam filters do not like me. It tried to refuse my note above and finally let it through and then I notice my earlier note is gone now and I didn’t delete it. I don’t think I can.

  14. Jim Says:

I got 5 out of 6. You obviously have too much time on your hands.

  15. Monkling Says:

    I got 5 out of 6.

Well now how will I know that is true? You didn’t fill out my nice little form. And it seems you must have too much time on your hands if you have time to read my blog. Damn. Now I can’t talk about you.

  16. Janet Says:

He did get 5 out of 6. As far as the comment about having too much time on your hands, I think he’s just jealous because he’s not creative enough to come up with a contest made out of cereal figures  You can talk about him all you like – he only reads the blog when I show him something on it – I can be selective.
