Last June when we went to California, I discovered a cool little gadget at my uncle’s. He has one of those food vacuum thingies. You know how, no matter how tightly you wrap it, mozzarella always gets hard and disgusting after a day or 2? Well here was the answer to my prayers! Vacuum seal the mozzarella.
As soon as we arrived home, I went online and ordered one myself. At the first family gathering, I sang it’s praises. We pondered what would happen if you stuck a hamburger roll in it and, yes, everyone followed me into the kitchen to see what would happen. (We are a very easily amused family.) Everyone watched in awe as the burger roll was flattened into a pancake.
Thus began my vacuum sealing adventures. There was a problem, though. I was not terribly vigilant about labeling things that I stuck in the freezer. There were many times I had absolutely no clue what something was. Of course some things are pretty simple to figure out, like these:
Those are mixed nuts. Appropriate, don’t ya think?
Other items, however, get a bit more tricky. Thus – the contest. Here are 4 photos of different foods that have been vacuum sealed. Whoever has the highest number of correct guesses, wins. There is even an actual prize.
Regarding item #2- there are multiple items in that bag. Four items, to be exact. Therefore, you are allowed up to 4 answers for that one. And about #3, yeah there are a couple of things in there but I’m just looking for a very general answer. You can throw in a specific answer of an item in there but it won’t count unless you correctly guess the general answer, as well. Yes, I am a tough judge!
After the winner is announced, the winner will need to provide, via email, an actual street address to receive their prize. Believe me, you won’t want to miss out on this!
Guesses can be posted here but then you’ll just be helping others with your clues and guesses. It’s entirely up to you whether you want to post publicly or not. If not, email me. (Click on the flying envelope near the top of the sidebar.) I have not yet decided whether or not blood relatives will be allowed to win but they are welcome to take their best guess.
BTW – If you want to have some fun, you can post guesses you know are wrong, just to mess with people. Not that I’d ever do anything like that personally…
